Bridge 11 on the KWVR over the River Worth at Ingrow is scheduled to be renewed early this year.
The photo below shows RS1015/50 (owned by the Bahamas Locomotive Society) off-loading some of the concrete beams on 30 January 2020, in readiness.

I wonder if anyone can advise any information on the crane shown in the photo.
It was taken at Crewe Works sometime between 1923 and 1939.
The Crane Driver (2nd from the left on top row) was Henry Potts.

Hello Kevin I'm interested to hear that you drove RS1015 when at Allerton. As you are probably aware the crane survives on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. It's owned by the Bahamas Locomotive Society who keep in it working order. If you ever you have the opportunity to come to our Museum/Wo...

Like locomotive axle boxes, I would have thought that whitemetal bearings would use oil as a lubricant. Grease would be used on 'brass' or roller/ball bearings.

I thought this link may be of interest. It's a short clip of Craven RS1015/50 at work at Ingrow on the KWVR on 2 June 1999.

Bryan If only we knew! The BR Order for New Stock - in the NRM Search Engine - for the conversion of Corridor Composites to 'Combined Riding & Tool Van' states that Corr Comp No.3515 is to be renumbered DM 395470 and lettered MPM Southport. This lettering survived - and it is an assumption that ...

Does anyone have any information on the breakdown train based at Southport in the late 1950's early 60s? The Riding & Tool Van allocated there in 1957 later moved to Northwich. From here it was acquired by the 8E Association, and then purchased and moved to the Dinting Railway Centre. When the C...

I guess I'm coming a little late to this discussion, but for info, the Allerton breakdown train included a 6-wheel former 'milk tanker' as an additional water supply. When the Allerton crane was bought for Dinting, by the Bahamas Loco Society, the water tank came with it. This, along with the crane,...

Hello I note that the website shows that the Craven 50 ton crane on the KWVR (ADRV95206) is out of use. Actually it is currently fully operational. It is owned by the Bahamas Locomotive Society and is usually to be found at Ingrow adjacent to the Bahamas Society workshop and museum. We used it durin...
