I’m seeing pictures of a significant (freight) derailment just outside Carlisle. Multiple cranes are going to be required and probably a solid week of re railing, followed by a lot of track relaying.

I believe it was used to re rail vehicles on site, I’ve seen pictures of it fully rigged up straddling a 159 vehicle.

Are the days of a dedicated breakdown crane/train numbered?

Hi Roger

I managed to find one solitary copy hiding in a box upstairs. I've now had another batch of copies run off, so if anybody needs one feel free to get in touch.

Thanks

Roger. I can’t find my copy, possibly lost in a house move. Do you still have a copy?
Thanks

An EMU went off a set of traps at Welwyn Garden City on Monday night.

It's been declared a crane job and looking like recovery will be Saturday night using an Infrastructure crane instead of the dedicated Breakdown Crane?

I saw this link posted elsewhere.
It's a bogie change on a Class 28 diesel, featuring an appearance by a breakdown crane covering one half of the tandem lift.
