Roger, a highly interesting narrative of the problems in restoration of the real thing.From a complete laymans viewpoint, how was the grate inserted/cleaned of clinker etc unless it was in pieces, and was it inserted through stoke hole or from the bottom? Drawings very interesting and a great help in understanding its composition. I am in the process of gathering information to build a 5 inch scale model, and the boiler looks an interesting(beastie!) article to make.

Model looks exceptional, and is just the detail that can help others in the construction of models.

May I please ask on what crane has this been modelled? as I am gathering info. on the R&R 36ton ADRR95201 in preparation of making a start

Hi everybody, I am retired, and have decided to follow my interests in rail steam cranes and have started to research the R&R 36ton no ADRR95201 located at the Kent and East Sussex railway. I propose to model it in 5 inch gauge with the associated jib runner, stokes bogies etc. I hope to contact...
