Link below, taken from the Southern Electric Group's Facebook page, clearly shows that the ropes are no longer visible. The question is were they cut or just wound on the drums!

As a rule all our cranes were jib to London, when I worked at Brighton and to the best of my knowledge all the depots I visited had the same, apart from the depots in the inner London area, IE: Stewarts Lane. It is the same as up and down lines in general up is to London and also platform 1 is usual...

I think you will find that MJH002 is the lifting bracket you want for the job

Hi Steve Would it be possible to have a copy of the DVD. It would be nice to see the Eastleigh boys on the job. I was working on the Brighton gang and on the odd occasion Eastleigh would come onto our patch and we would go onto theirs, as we did with Ashford, Stewarts Lane and Wimbledon. Regards Mick

Hi Roger, I hope you do not mind but I have taken the liberty of using your quote on the OTP website, as I strongly agree with you.
I would also like to know the reason they are sending it to Margate, are they thinking of converting it into a ride at Dreamland.

No Roger, I was talking about those that cannot afford to buy the new Bachmann 38-800 to 803 Ransomes & Rapier 45 Ton Breakdown crane at around £212+, that is being produced as we speak, they can convert a Hornby one instead. Hi Richard

It sounds like a good idea, as this maybe useful fore anyone that cannot afford to buy the new Bachmann crane.
Can you post some photos on the site to give us an idea of what is to come.

I wonder if it would be worth asking the seller if they would donate the drawing to the BDCA if they did not sell, I appreciate that we would need an archivist to look after any drawing that we recived and wondered if this was worth considering.
