Steamed today for the Full Load Test. Passed with no problems other than the terrible weather.
57.8t on the hook for the proof load test.
Thanks to Poole Boat Transport for providing the weights and the tray.

Over the past few days 1561 has been tested with increasing loads. Today she lifted and skewed 57tons. Certification lifts will be carried out on the 25th August. Photo,s will follow.

The June issue of Old Glory has an article on the preservation of a CS breakdown Crane in New Zealand.
I haven't had the chance to read it yet but the photo's are interesting.

It is hoped that 1561 will be in steam all this weekend for the Swanage Railway Spring Gala. Subject to annual Inspection tomorrow {Friday}
It will be on the Road Rail Interchange at Norden.

The photo I posted was a link from the Swanage Railway's staff forum. It is similar to one in Tatlow, Black and white which is why I wasn't sure.

Lifted 12 tons today to prove brakes etc. More weght to follow.
First load lifted since 1988.
Painting is about 20% completed, will restart next spring.

Steamed today and moved under its own power 200 yards and back.
Joined the 2, ex Southern, Stothert and Pitt Dock Cranes for a while.
Hopefully will be doing some test lifting next week to check brakes and clutches all work with weight on.

Has anyone got either the sizes or the Part Numbers for the Axlebox Oiler Pads on R&R 45 Ton cranes.
I need a full set of new ones, but need the info to place an order.
