Seems there was a Freight train derailment at Lewisham with at least 3 bogie hoppers off.

Location looks difficult for a road mobile.

Looking on Google maps and Streetview seems to be a wide span with a flat deck so any recovery will be with jibs nearly flat or slightly inclined.

Date now established as being in 1957 - 58
The 63 date was what I found on BR Database.
That is the only added detail I know.
I think being a York crane will be highly probable as the photo comes from the collection of a man who used to be on a York crane.

Any ideas as to where and when 62048 had this incident?
Visit to works after collision in 1963 is on BR Database..
I suspect a York area crane involved.

A similar task was carried out on the NYMR in the 80's I believe using the 45 ton Ransomes at Newbridge.
That was a Deltic re engine as well.
