An incredibly well constructed Meccano model of the 1932 Ransomes & Rapier 35-ton Cambridge/Stratford crane (LNER No. 961601, BR No. 330131) may be seen at http://meccanoman.co.uk/catalog/html/da ... rrrbc.html.

This is a very good representation of the full-size crane which was withdrawn in March 1970, though the fold-away chimney extension on the model is down to 'modeller's licence', not being authentic for this particular crane.

In respect of interest in BDCs I understand that a Meccano exhibition and show at Ironbridge in May is going to have a main feature of BDC models.
