Hi all,
After a bit of a glitch I've managed to join, and I'm looking forward to accessing some advice and information to help in the restoration of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 50T Cowans & Sheldon crane MP4 - RS1005/50. Manufactured in 1930 for LMS, retired in the 1980's and working at Worth Valley until the boiler ticket expired. Since then she's been resting outside the shed.

I lead a small team of volunteers who have been working on the crane restoration for about 2 years.

The crane was last used in 1999 and has had two sets of activity since to bring her back into use. The ash lying in hidden areas of the carriage, the boiler and all that entails, high stresses in the match truck causing corrosion and a hard working life have all brought their challenges.

Any help and advice will be much appreciated.

Regards from the Wednesday Gang at Haworth MPD!

Welcome Graham!

My apologies for the glitch which delayed the process for a shamefully long time, we have had a few "issues" lately but are trying hard to sort them out.

It is great news to hear that work is underway to return MP4 to working order, and the prospect of one day seeing MP4 and MP9 working together is enticing.
