Hello all!

Just a quick intro. I'm just a past railway enthusiast who has turned over to modelling my favourite railway era which is the 1970's. I'm progressing from building model kits to some of my own designs of more unusual rolling stock, and I've always had a fascination with the heavy breakdown cranes which command attention in real life and equally on the modelling stage.

I'm working on a 7mm (O Gauge) C&S 75 ton breakdown at present - it will be a BR(W) circa 1976 working model with DCC control - a diesel hydarulic crane to go with my diesel hydraulic locos. :P

I have no experience of working on BR, but have worked as a volunteer at the SVR and East Lancs Railway.... principally doing leg work for those master engineers looking after the diesel hydraulic fleet, and I also have some model engineering experience on 3.5" and 5" Gauge steam locos (but this was some time ago with my father).

Today, I work as an insurance manager, have a young family, enjoy salmon fishing, photography and most sports.

As a member of the Huddersfield Railway Modellers, I have access to a excellent clubroom, and layouts in various gauges, and ranging from radio-controlled live steam down to scratch-built 2mm fine-scale.

Look forward to chatting with you all.

Boris.
