Hi. I've been involved with the ELR at Bury now for about 6 years and have grown quite fond of the Cowans Sheldon diesel-hydraulic 75 ton breakdown crane and the Craven 36/50 ton steam breakdown crane. I have worked around the Cowans crane a few times during lifts for the steam department. I don't have any direct involvement in these cranes but am looking at making a 5 inch gauge model of the Craven, as it is being looked at for restoration at the moment. I am also looking for a steam crane to restore in a year or so with a mate but it will only be a 7-1/2 ton max crane. Hope that suffices for an intro.
