Reported crane status at 02:00, 20th May 2012

Bescot crane (ADRC96710) available at Bescot
Knottingley crane (ADRC96714) out of service at Worksop with a brake fault expected OK 21st May
Wigan crane (ADRC96713) available at Wigan
Spare crane (ADRC96715) out of service at Wigan with a bearing defect/wheelset change

So it would appear that the Bescot crane is "back home" and the Knottingley crane is still under repair. Will the 21st be met?

Storage Status of Network Rail Breakdown Cranes

The Stock Allocation page of the November issue of Todays Railways shows all four of the CS telescopic cranes as Stored. Three shown at Springs Branch, one at Bescot.

Is this withdrawal from service or something else?; possibly an accountancy device that allows some costs to cease whilst so categorised?

This comment has been posted on On Track Plant today :-

They're still banned from use as far as I am aware. I have heard it is due to working at height safety regulations?
