...........130 known copies and counting ....I'd print my list but I don't want to be done under the Data Protection Act!

There's definitely a Brownlie in Bluebell Railway reference library, if not on the list already;
(will also hold volumes 1 & 2 of Railway Breakdown Cranes when delivered in the week).

Chris,

Are you actually keeping a list of the copies of the Brownlie books? I've got a scruffy ex-library copy here...

Indeed yes - and lots of lists - of cranes; by manufacturer and country of destination; not to mention blocksetters, giant hammerheads, hydraulic buffers and turntables; and extant catalogues.

Thanks for the interest, now sold to a forum member I'm pleased to say.

If you are keeping a list Chris, I did say this was a spare copy - I do have another which is staying on the shelf that I'd forgotten about! On discovering it again the other week I realised I didn't need two...

The one I had and sold to a forum member got lost in the post, it was inscribed JB Latham inside the front cover in case it ever turns up.

Was that the one which sold very recently, and (if I recall correctly) for quite a modest price?

I was watching that one to see what it fetched, and I do wonder if the release of Peter's new book has caused the prices that we'll Brownlie fetching to return to a more sensible level. It will be interesting to see how prices trend over the coming months.
