Well done Pete. Can you explain the rationale for testing at 57.8t - I understood the crane was rated at 45. Are there any guidelines for this sort of testing? Thanks, |

Stan, I'll jump in with the original test load figures for your crane MP3:- R&R's "Order Abstract" of 3rd June 1930 for "Shop Order 2958", stated: Test Loads: 25% above W.L. except for 40 ft radius which is 20 tons @ 40’ 0”. |

We worked to the original specification which gives 1.25 x maximum load. = 56.25 tons/57.15tonnes The test weights came out at 57.8 tonnes which is slightly over but was as close as we could get. |
