6V38 hauled by 66134 came to grief on the points at Llanwern West Junction yesterday 16/1/17. Third wagon in the consist derailed causing damage to the junction pointwork. ADRC96713 and support vehicles dispatched from Wigan this morning sandwiched between 67007 & 66134. Recovery could be difficult as the junction is directly under the A48 road bridge.

The rumoured 'grounding' of these cranes would thus appear to have been resolved.

Looking on Google maps and Streetview seems to be a wide span with a flat deck so any recovery will be with jibs nearly flat or slightly inclined.

The recovery did go ahead but unfortunately I have few details and have no idea whether the rail crane was used.
