Colas Rail Kirow 1200 81612 was at site but did not appear to be involved in the wagon re-railing which was done with jacks.
See https://twitter.com/freightmasteruk for 29 Jan etc for photos and videos.

Which organisation ( these days ) is responsible for transporting and using such jacks?

ps (( No report of any cranes involvement in the re-railing between Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow Queens Road ))

I can't answer your question, I'm afraid, but I find it extraordinary that it has taken longer to reopen the affected line after this derailment than it did to reopen all lines through Harrow & Wealdstone station in October 1952.

Progress?

I am informed that a new point has got to be made as they do not have any spare, so they are running at reduced speed across the affected area having installed some temporary track.

Interesting, thanks. I was sure that there's a good reason, but it's an interesting comparison.
