Peak Rail Association have purchased the Cowans Sheldon Breakdown Crane from Peak Rail PLC.
The crane was purchased in December 2020 and was made to support Peak Rail PLC finances during the lock-down.
The crane is not currently in working condition. The boiler has been removed
Peak Rail Association intend to restore the crane back to working use.

The crane was ordered by the LNER from Cowans Sheldon in 1936. ( CS 5755 )
The crane has a lifting capacity of 36 tons and was numbered 941591 by the LNER.
It worked with the LNER and BR up until 1988 ( later as BR 124, RS1106/36, ADRC95223 ) when it was withdrawn and stored at Toton until it was moved to Matlock in August 1989.
