Although the Kirow cranes are not part of the recovery fleet, they can be utilised for that purpose as they are similar to cranes used on other european Railway Undertakings.

Indeed, I have asked one of the infrastructure owners of those cranes of the possibility of hire if required, they had no reason why not as long as they were not in use anywhere else.

Sooner or later, I can forsee the use of them on the main line for recovery, as the Old Cowans ones are not going to last forever.
