Can an identity be obtained for the crane in the attached 2 photos?
Location is York North, Water End bridge during its rebuild in about 1970.

Even better would be an identity for the Gresley Mess coach but that is probably impossible.

Was a crane based at York in 1970?

Pretty sure it will be RS1072/30 aka (331)160.

CS 30-ton crane, Order/Works No 7519 for LMS, delivered 22/06/1943, match wagon 770006. Transferred to ER 1954.

New to Wakefield, then Sunderland (South Dock), then Hull (Dairycoates), the Hull (Bot Gardens), arriving at York 09/71. Withdrawn 1973, scrapped.

See Marley Junction photos for more pics of this crane.

I can't help with the Gresley coach. I am afraid!
