The Cowans Sheldon crane in the museum in Budapest has been confirmed from its MAV file of 1950 as works number 8056.
Interestingly the file states it was donated by / bought from a United States Military inventory ca. 1947. An explanation of this statement would be interesting.

This picture of it at work in Hungary appeared on a websring ( unattributed ).

This museum is becoming a relative haven for preserved cranes -
CS steam 45t
Gyor steam 65t
Takraf EDK300 60t
Takraf EDK300W diesel 30t ( jib configured for working under catenary )
Takraf EDK300/5 diesel telescopic 50t
Unknown 4w hand crane
