1908 Caillard for P&O; seen at Brives in the early 1960s.

One of the earlier type with riveted plate sided jibs - the later 1912-13 batch having lattice jibs. I believe PLM also ordered two.

One assumes the earlier type jib was just too heavy ( shades of the CS 75 ton machines )

Note the removable buffer beam extensions which allow the crane to work closer to the load. On this batch of machines thay were rectanguklar in shape; the later batch having a sloping top.

I do not know if any were ever rejibbed; this example was withdrawn soon after and was never dieselised.
