One of the two R&R 30 tonners is in working order in the Bridge Engineers Workshop Compound at Dematagoda.
The other is in Ratmalana Works for overhaul, together with one of the small Graftons.
Two other Graftons and a Thomas Smith are also present; though not all in working condition.

If you plan to visit write to :
Bridge Engineers Office, Bridge Workshop,
413, Danister de Silva, Dematagoda, Mawatha, Colombo 09

The Cowans Sheldon breakdown crane continues in service and is now kept at the diesel hydraulic depot. ( the 1991 Gottwald is stopped due to lack of spares and latterly no certified driver )

There is a photograph associated with this page showing the CGR Loco Departments CS BDC toppled and jib removed for re-railing.

The bridge departments two R&R 30 ton BDC style cranes were pressed in to service to effect the recovery.
