Travelling abroad and do not wish to miss seeing any steam powered breakdown cranes!!……by all means contact me and I’ll try to point you in the right directions. I have done a fair amount of looking in respect of extant machines; further to my basic and comprehensive research into exported machines from this country. The quid pro quo please is for any information on preserved, and dumped, steam cranes anywhere in the world, that I may not have found, thanks to a certain search engine, in my various searches in different languages. I also have been given a list or preserved cranes in the USA, Canada and Mexico, for which I am trying get agreement for guest appearances on this site. |

Saw quite a few Ransomes & Rapier in Brazil on a tour in 2008. Russian built Kirows in Cuba, I mention because they appear in UK as engineers cranes. |

Nice one, Dick. A quick search brought up an all-too-brief summary of this crane at http://www.nmld.nl/index.php?page=object&id=2082&lan=en. |

One of a pair - both preserved ......... note it is at the 'non public' workshop, not the running depot, the people at Apeldoorn usually friendly and will walk you round. OOU, VSM BEEKBERGEN/APELDOORN WORKSHOP 5/2008 3084 974 1 503-1 D 60T 6+6W Krupp-Ardelt 204282/1957 Ex 482? PSVD SPOORWEG MUSUEM ( not seen on exhibition at Utrecht Museum nor at Venlo reserve 5/2008 ) They have two pretty much identical preserved 'sisters' - one at Odense; the other at Haifa. |
