Thanks to Francesca Halfacree (pronounced 'hulfa-kree') at Cumbria County Council Archives, I have now downloaded all 48 of the drawings which her department scanned of the Cowans Sheldon 1930 crane, Order 5111/13, delivered to the LMS in May 1931, currently at Didcot. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Peter,

Have Cumbria Archives started a comprehensive scanning of drawings?; or was this a request by yourself for drawings of the particular machine? What sort of costs were involved?

When I first visited them they hadn't even sorted and indexed the drawings which were stored in an industrial unit near Kingmoor - at least they know now what they have!

Chris

Chris, I'm sorry ... I've only just seen your question.
Cumbria CC provide this service. They have a large quantity of drawings and will scan as requested,
Again my apologies for a late reply,
Peter
